Guadalupe L. Hernandez

Guadalupe L. Hernandez, 92, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2021 at Spanish Meadows surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roque Hernandez Sr.; one daughter, Oralia (Jose Luis†) Palafox: her parents, Encarnacion Leal and Vicenta Garcia Leal; her mother and father-in-law, Hipolito and Micaela Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Micaela (Eusebio) Garza, Juan (Merrimack†) Hernandez, Roque (Dalila) Hernandez, Mary West, Rosalinda (Luis†) Aguilar, Gilberto (Diana) Hernandez, Maria G. (Reynaldo) Limon, Ramon (Maricela) Hernandez, Manuel (Virginia) Hernandez, Joel Hernandez, Carlos (Patricia Ann) Hernandez; 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with burial to follow at 10 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Hernandez, Roque Hernandez, Gilberto Hernandez, Ramon Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, and Joel Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Hernandez and Reynaldo Limon. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.     I’m so deeply sorry for your loss, Mrs. Lupita was such a sweet loving lady, it was an honor to have had known her and have had great conversations, the times Anna and I would go out to lunch, with her.     Nuestros más sentido pésame. Mrs. Hernández era una persona fina. Es suegra de mi hermanita Virginia…así que a mi cuñado Manuel le deseamos resignación . Igualmente a su Familia…Diosito los bendiga.
