Benito Puentes, 73, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest May 20, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico on March 21, 1948. He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Consuelo Puentes; children Norma, Elizabeth (Sofia), Benito Jr. (Jessica) and Rossi; his grandchildren Marcecy, Benito III, Francisco Xavier Vianney, Derrick, Andrew, and Isaiah.
Benito loved his birth country old Mexico. He served in the Mexican Navy and served as a Police Supervisor for over 25 years; besides his family, Benito’s greatest love was his music. He was one of the original band member of the Los Peligrosos. Benito was a master storyteller; everyone would always gather to hear his stories. Benito was loved, admired, and respected he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at 12 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
