Jose Adan “El Cuate” Vela Vela
Jose Adan “El Cuate†Vela Vela, 64, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 22, 1957. He is preceded in death by his parents Victoria and Estanislao Vela; siblings Ernesto, Estanislao, Ignacio and Jaime Vela.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Laura Vela (Juan Martinez), Ercilia Vela, Rosalinda Chavez (Felix Chavez), Ana Flor (Felix) Moreno, Erendira Vela (Alejandro Martinez), Vilma Vela (Florencio Moreno), Manuela Vela (Uriel Garcia), Maria Guadalupe Vela, and Jose Adan Vela Jr.; siblings Maria E. Gutierrez (Eloy), Flor E. Vela (Juan), Maria Gloria Ramos Vela (Modesto Yado), Oralia Vela, Estanislao Vela Jr. (Martha), Elena Vela, Andrea Vela (Elias), Sergio E. Vela (Norma), Jesus Vela (Maria), Yolanda Vela (Victor), and Cesar Vela (Ana); grandchildren Felix Moreno Jr. (Dayany Carcaño), Juan Martinez Jr., Felix Chavez Jr., Thomas Moreno, Jose Martinez, Valerie Campbell, Julian Chavez, Arlette Moreno, Isaak Martinez, Aaron Vela, Mateo Moreno, Kenia Martinez, Alondra Martinez, and Angel Vela; 1 great grandchild Fabian Moreno.
Visitation Will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel opens at 8:30 AM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 with burial to follow at 10 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
