Jose De La Cruz, 77, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest April 16, 2021 at Valley Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico on November 25, 1943. He was preceded in death by his daughter Veronica De La Cruz.
Left to cherish his memory is his spouse M. Elvira De La Cruz, his sons Jose Luis, Julio Cesar, and daughter Sara Elena De La Cruz, his Brothers Pedro, Juan, Enrique, his sisters, Lydia, Paulina, Raquel, and Minerva, Grandchildren Alejandra, David Anthony, Julio Esteban and Samantha Marie De La Cruz.
A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Very hard-working man throughout his entire life always being there for everyone in any possible way that he could. A person who would always put others before himself and enjoyed doing it. He started working at a very young age to be there for his younger brothers and sisters and did it with a smile on his face because he loved them. His favorite activities were spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
Visitation is scheduled for April 20, 2021 from 1:00PM to 7:00PM with a Rosary or Prayer service at 5:30PM. Chapel opens at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 with burial at 10:00 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
