Santos J. Coronado, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted father, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2021, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 3, 1949. He is preceded in death by his parents Bertha and Julio Coronado, his spouse Martha Shears Coronado; siblings Ramona Martinez (Eduardo), Houston TX, Mike Coronado (Elena), Corpus Christi TX, Carlos Coronado, Brownsville TX.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Javier J. Coronado, Jamie Lynn Coronado, Adam Coronado, Amanda Coronado, Lee Roy Shears, Lester Shears, Mark A. Shears, and Fred J. Shears; siblings Dolores Gonzales (Manuel) Corpus Christi, TX, Esperanza Rosas (Hector) Crowley, TX, Berta O. Coronado (Mary) Houston, TX, Hilda Soto, Brownsville, TX, and Antonio (Codeti) Coronado.
SFC Santos Coronado served in the US Army for 32 years. Santos enjoyed being around his family; he was always cheering on his grandchildren in sports. He enjoyed western movies and watching wrestling. He was always available to help those that needed a hand to move or change a tire. He was a strong silent person that took action.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
