Pamela “Pam” Mary Marshall

Pamela “Pam” Mary Marshall

Pamela “Pam” Mary Marshall, 77, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2021.

She is survived by her siblings Joan McManus and Ed Skerrett.  She leaves behind her husband of over 50 years, Jim Marshall, two daughters, Traci Marshall and Amy (John) Emery, and three granddaughters; Alayna (18), Brooke (18), and Sarah (6).

Born and raised in Chicago, Pam relocated to Arlington Texas in 1982 with her family.  In the fall of 1982, Pam began teaching first grade at Butler Elementary where she would continue until her retirement 31 years later.  Butler Elementary faculty, staff, and students became her second family.

As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, “Mimiâ€, teacher, and friend, Pam was deeply loved and admired. Pam was instrumental in mentoring student teachers and teammates.  She had a passion for reading and made it her mission to turn reading into a joy for her young students.

After Pam’s retirement she and Jim built their dream house in Laguna Vista, across the street from her sister Joan.  She and Jim quickly became active in their community and made many friends.  She hardly had time to relax with all the singing, dancing, and socializing with her fellow “Lounge Lizardsâ€.

Pam will be missed by all but her “sparkle†will continue to light up our hearts and minds.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Divots -South Padres Island Golf Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Butler Elementary First Grade, c/o Debbie Steiner, Butler Elm, 2121 Margaret Dr, Arlington, TX 76012.

    Pam:
You were special to Connie and me. You were kind, caring and a special friend. You and I shared enjoyment of writing haiku… Japanese poetry. You were creative, encouraging and enjoyed life to the fullest.
    You will be missed..
    Our love.

It truly was a blessing having Pam as a friend and her fun loving personality was great and the birthdays were so fun and tiny cupcakes and the beautiful fabulous crowns
