Maria M. De Martinez, 87, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mission, Texas on September 12, 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband Eduardo Martinez; son Roman Martinez; parents Roman Martinez and Elpidia Garza; siblings Enriqueta Parada, Orelia Vasquez and Margarita Garcia.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Socorro (Jaime) Martinez, Eduardo (Alicia) Martinez, Maricela Martinez, Magdalena (Lorenzo) Perez, Martha (Laudencio) Castro, Mireya Martinez, Hugo (Raquel) Martinez, Guillermo (Mimi) Martinez, Julio (Mandy) Martinez, Candy (Wesley) Williams; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved traveling, shopping, watching old movies and gatherings with family. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Liturgical service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 1 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
