Juan Jose McClain

Juan Jose McClain

On Sunday, October 11, 2020, Juan Jose McClain, loving husband, and father of three sons, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the age of 60.

Juan was born on April 12, 1960 in Brownsville, TX to Jose and Hilda McClain. He graduated from James Pace High School.  He went on to enlist in the Air Force, followed by the Army, where he completed a 25 yr. career.  On March 20, 1993, he married Maria Elena Perez. They raised three sons, Jose Felix (Wakana), Javier and Joaquin.

Juan had many passions.  He loved to fish, cook, build things, however, his priority was always tending to his boys and his wife.  He was a jack of all trades.  There was nothing Juan would not do for his loved ones and close friends.  He was also an avid music lover and a collector of Beatles memorabilia along with the help of his eldest son, whom he passed on the gift of music to. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.  Juan was that “guy” you would call for help and he’d never question the situation, he’d say, “what can I do to help?” and always came through.

Juan was preceded in death by his father, Jose McClain. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena, his three sons, Jose Felix (Wakana), Javier and Joaquin. Also, numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved like his own.

Although sorrow is present now, we will see you again.  Meanwhile your heart will rejoice, reigning in the holy kingdom.  Juan will be truly missed by many, but his memory will live in our hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory at 657 Springmart Blvd, Brownsville, TX.  Viewing will be set to begin at 1 o’clock p.m. with memorial service at 5 p.m. and Military Funeral Honors to follow at 6 p.m. Services will conclude at 7 p.m.
