Maria J. Barreda of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest September 8, 2020 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on January 7,1954. She is preceded in death by her Parents Cosme Torres and Micaela Renteria; siblings Olivia Torres, Raquel Galvan, and Nohemi Guerrero.
Left to cherish is her husband Roberto Barreda; children Fatima, Roberto, and Francisco; siblings Maria De Los Angeles, Rosa Hilda, Cosme and Sergio.
Maria was a person was a person full of God. A person who always walked with a smile on her face regardless if she was sad. She was always singing church songs and praising God. She always had a word of encouragement for anyone regardless of the circumstance. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 9 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
