Doroteo “Dee†Trevino, 73, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
Dee is preceded in death by his wife, Criselda M. Trevino; parents, Santos and Lina Trevino; brothers, Raul and Santos Trevino; and sister, Isabel Euresti.
Dee is survived by his three children, Monica Lizette, Erica Denise, Marko Andre (Haymee); six grandchildren, Anahi, Efrain Jr., Zackary, Andre Sebastian, Marko Fabian, and Mia Fernanda; siblings, Nena, Sara, Ruben, and Olga; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home located at 657 Springmart Boulevard in Brownsville, Texas. A face mask is required and face shields and gloves are recommended.
The burial will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas. We ask that all guests remain in their vehicles during this time. Serving as Pallbearers are Marko Andre Trevino, Ruben Trevino Jr., Harold Garcia, Billy Killebrew Jr., Juan Cortez, and Daniel Euresti.
Dee was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 17, 1947. He graduated from Brownsville High School and continued his education at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas and received a Bachelor Degree. He then went on to pursue a graduate degree at Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas and obtained a Master Degree.
Dee was employed with the Brownsville Independent School District for 39 years as a teacher. Most of his career was spent at Pace High School. He married his college sweet-heart, Criselda M. Trevino on December 22, 1973. They were married for 46 years and raised three children together. He was a devoted Christian man, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who always instilled his Christian values with loved ones. He enjoyed spending time with the family no matter what plans they had. Friday nights were reserved to attend local high school football games and made it a point to wait after each game and congratulate his students. He was a man who always looked out for his family and made sure they were okay in any way and provided because his family came first.
He was a man full of life and will always be remembered as a kind hearted person who was the light of the room and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly. His children ask that anyone attending the burial to wear white to honor his life.

Tio Dee there are no words to describe how sad my heart is. Thank you for always showing so much love to your family. It was always a joy to be around you and engaging in conversations with you. Thank you for all the wonderful memories that I will forever cherish in my heart ❤️. I love you Tio Dee.
I will always cherish the wonderful memories of the fellowship we enjoyed with Dee and Criselda for so many years at Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana Mex. They were such a beautiful couple, always together, always happy, always involved. We feel deeply grieved with their passing, but I praise the Lord for their life and pray for their family that remain behind. May the God of all peace be with them and comfort them at this difficult time.

The world is a little less bright because Doroteo is no longer in it. I will miss my classmate and friend since Jr. High. RIP

I was your dad’s college roommate at Pan American University when he met your mom Criselda. I remember meeting her then and see them so happy. Dee and I never forgot each other and when I moved to Brownsville in 1978 we would greet each other at home Depot and other locations. He was such a gentle person. I never saw him angry. Your mother was his treasure. I was told of his death by Leticia Rendon one of his teacher colleagues at Los Fresnos. I shall miss seeing him at various stores in Brownsville.
I had the honor and pleasure of working with Mr. Treviño at Pace H.S., many years ago. He readily and frequently attended special education IEP meetings for students who needed his representation. Many times, Mr. Treviño readily gave up his planning periods to attend IEP meetings. Since he knew most students at the school, he could always contribute wise comments and opinions. Although he taught art, our special education team could always count on his cheerful smile, professionalism, and collegial support. Mr. Treviño’s very good deeds preceded him. Heaven welcomed him.
Dee was a fantastic man, husband, father and friend. He was my mentor teacher 24 years ago. Always full of life and kindness. You be missed my dear friend Dee.
He was very friendly, sincere, and always with a good sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family.
