Hermelinda E. Tapia, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on July 29, 2020 in Brownsville, TX. Hermelinda was born on August 27, 1955 in San Benito, NL to Francisca Suarez and Rodolfo Escamilla.
Hermelinda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Israel Tapia Tapia; her parents, Francisca Suarez and Rodolfo Escamilla; one brother, Reyes Escamilla and two sisters, Oralia Escamilla and Maria Elena Escamilla.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Israel (Jessica) Tapia, Andres (Mayra) Tapia, Mary F. Tapia and Steven Alexander Tapia; four siblings, Federico Escamilla, Reynaldo Escamilla, Aurora Escamilla and Maria Cristela Escamilla; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 1 to 8 PM at Iglesia Mision Divina located at 36 Sam Perl Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78520. Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Iglesia Mision Divina. Christina burial will follow at Guillen Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Israel Tapia Jr., Andres Tapia, Rogelio M. Garza Jr., Federico Escamilla, Steven Tapia, Reynaldo Escamilla, Rogelio E. Garza III, and Vidal Garza Jr.
