Criselda M. (Moreno) Trevino June 12, 1950 – July 28, 2020 (age 70)

Criselda M. Trevino, 70, of Brownsville, Texas, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

Criselda is preceded in death by her husband, Doroteo “Dee†Trevino; parents, Amadeo and Anita Moreno; brother, Sergio Moreno.

Criselda is survived by her three children, Monica Lizette, Erica Denise, Marko Andre (Haymee); six grandchildren, Anahi, Efrain Jr., Zackary, Andre Sebastian, Marko Fabian, and Mia Fernanda; siblings, Cesar Sr., Graciela, Enedina, Arnulfo, Amadeo Jr., Luis, Rossana, Pedro, Eduardo, Lazaro, Altagracia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home located at 657 Springmart Boulevard in Brownsville, Texas.  A face mask is required, and face shields and gloves are recommended.

The burial will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas.  We ask that all guests remain in their vehicles during this time.  Serving as Pallbearers are Marko Andre Trevino, Efrain Duran Jr., Omar Munoz, Carlos Munoz, Eduardo Figueroa, and Juan Cortez.

Criselda was born in Roma “Los Saenzâ€, Texas on June 12, 1950.  She graduated from Roma High School and continued her education at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas and received a Bachelor Degree. 

Criselda was employed with the Brownsville Independent School District for 40 years as a teacher.  Most of her career was spent at Egly Elementary.  She married her college sweet-heart, Doroteo “Dee†Trevino on December 22, 1973.  They were married for 46 years and raised three children together.  She was a devoted Christian woman, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who always instilled her Christian values with loved ones.  She enjoyed spending time with the family whether it was with her son barbecuing or shopping with her daughters.  Criselda loved to spend time with her siblings in Roma, Texas at their family ranch.  She was a strong woman who was never negative, but always believed in prayer and faith even up to her last days on earth.

She will always be remembered as a kind hearted soul who loved her family.  Her children ask that anyone attending the burial to wear white to honor her life.

    Siempre los recordaré con mucho cariño a ambos. Ella una gran señora al lado de un gran hombre, mi compadre Treviño a quien voy a extrañar por el gran entusiasmo que mostraba por la vida. Según sus pláticas para él y para ella sus hijos y sus nietos era lo más importante! “ Los nietos se adoran comadre, vas a ver cuando los tengas” una frase que siempre llevaré en mi.

    Please accept my deepest condolences. I spent time with Criselda while attending college and enjoyed her friendship. I hope I can communicate with a family member. Know that she was loved and will be greatly missed.
