Gilberto H. Reyes, 72, of Brownsville, Texas devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather passed away on July 25, 2020 at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents Victoriano Reyes and Maria Luisa Hernandez; siblings David Reyes, Guadalupe Reyes, Eleberto Reyes, and Maria Martinez.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Matilde Acuna Reyes; children Gilberto (Sonia) Reyes Jr., Evangelina (Mario) Martinez, Ernestina (Christopher) Bowman, Miguel Antonio Reyes, Jesse (Michele) Reyes, Maria Cristina (John) Burris, and Luis (Claudia) Reyes; siblings Alejandro Reyes, Saul Reyes, Omar Reyes, and Martha Vasquez; grandchildren Kayla Reyes, William Reyes, Mario Martinez Jr., Ashley Garcia, Servando Garcia, Justin Bowman, Joshua Bowman, London Reyes, Morgan Reyes, Julian Guadiana, Jonathan Burris, Jeremiah Burris, Elrick Reyes, Marcy Reyes, and Jude Reyes and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 1 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 3 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
