Mary Elena Raymond of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Benito on November 20, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents Blasa and Librado Mancillas; brothers Norberto “Beto†Mancillas, Bebe Mancillas, and Chali Mancillas, her husband William “Bill†Raymond; great grandchild Shun Michael Perry.
Left to cherish her memory are her 2 brothers Librado “Lito†Mancillas Jr., Ruben Mancillas, sister Maria Isabel “Chavela†Lyons; 5 children James Walter Cuvillier, Barbara Cuvillier, Darlene Dalzell, Adonis Cuvillier Jr., and Robert “Bobby†Argabright, 14 grandchildren Christine Avila, Tammy Montana, Jacklyn De La Garza, Dr. James A. Cuvillier, Tessie Faye Cuvillier, Shannon Mae Cuvillier, William Curtis Cuvillier, Jeremiah Evans Cuvillier, Everett Argabright, Payton Argabright, Landry Argabright, Will Gray, Wesley Gray, Walter Gray, and numerous great grandchildren.
Mary’s favorite past time hobbies included sewing, knitting, baking, and cake decorating, which she received a recognition of achievement from Homer Hanna Home Economics for her talent and skill. In spite of raising her children at an early age to become a homemaker, she still managed to acquire her G.E.D. at the age of 60. She spent her leisure time solving crossword puzzles, playing checkers, or watching an exciting episode of Columbo.
Mary will be missed but not forgotten.
