Francisco V. Gonzalez, 81, of Brownsville, Texas devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2020 in Brownsville. He is preceded in death by his parents Luis and Elvira V. Gonzalez; his daughter Rosalinda Gonzalez Battles; siblings Jose Angel Gonzalez, Juan V. Gonzalez, Roman V. Gonzalez, Lilia Gonzalez, and Elvia V. Gonzalez.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Maria Herlinda Gonzalez; children Berta Cuellar (Ciro Cuellar Jr.) and Jose A. (Dora) Gonzalez; brother Nickolas V. (Gloria) Gonzalez; grandchildren Jeremy Battles of Corpus Christi, Amanda Battles of San Antonio, Kassandra (Kyle) Harrison of Kerrville, Jaime Cuellar of Corpus Christi, Jose Gonzalez Jr. of Brownsville, and Natalie Gonzalez of Brownsville; 3 nieces Marissa Gonzalez, Rosie Toyston, Lisa Radtke; 6 nephews Roberto Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Marco Gonzalez, Roman Gonzalez Jr, Joe Luis Gonzalez and Kristian Garcia. Also, several nieces and nephews in Texas, Illinois, and Virginia.

Francisco V. Gonzalez (Pancho) worked all his life in construction, being generous, kind, compassionate and humble but very strong minded, sometimes rude, but that was his way of showing his love and affection. Pancho always putting needs of family, friends, neighbors and even strangers before him.  He loved family gatherings all 10 minutes and enjoyed cooking. He loved all sports but PLEASE never mention THE COWBOYS! 

Leaving us with everlasting love and memories. His legacy will always be the light for the Gonzalez Raza. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 1 to 9 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 9 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Jose Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez Jr., Ciro Cuellar Jr., Jaime Cuellar, Jeremy Battles, Roberto Gonzalez, and Kristian Garcia.
