Mary Louise Marsh

Mary Louise Marsh, 79, passed away on June 3, 2020, in Brownsville, TX.

Mary (Flora) was the daughter of Rudolph and Cleopha (Mohr) Flora, who preceded her in death.   She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harley Selden Marsh, on April 11, 2014, and sister, Susan.

Mary and Harley were married on December 26, 1959 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2009.

Mary taught first grade CCD classes for many years and was also a Brownie leader when her daughter was younger.  Mary was a RN. She loved taking care of her patients and their families. She worked in ICU most of her career.

She and Harley spent a lot of time traveling when Harley was in the Navy.  After retirement in 1998, they traveled around the country in their motor home until they decided they had found their paradise at Winter Haven Resort in Brownsville, TX.  They made many friends while traveling, whom she kept in touch with.

Mary was very active in activities at Winter Haven and was the Activity Director for nine years.  She always said she loved every minute (well most) of her job there. She also was on the Winter Haven Board of Directors for a period of time.

She is survived by her little Chihuahua “Pennyâ€, one son, Andrew Marsh of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Becky Nield of Tracy’s Landing, MD; five grandchildren, Kadija, Alhaji, Sidney, Marley and Laila Shaw, of Tracys Landing, MD; two brothers, William (Susan) Flora of Muskegon, Michigan, and Walter of  Tennessee; one sister-in-law Sharon (Glenn) Hansen of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was an amazing lady in so many ways. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a wave as she walked and drove around Winter Haven with her beloved Penny. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her! She and Harley made a very special team and now they are together, again.
