Mr. Hector Jesus Martinez Diaz, 64, our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal rest on Monday, May 25th, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
Hector was born in Matamoros, Mexico but lived and raised his family in Brownsville, Texas. A devoted husband and loving father, Hector was proud to raise his five children and to see his three grandchildren come into the world. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family and always tried to help someone in need. Hector was always friendly and social, able to strike up a lively conversation with almost anyone he met.
Hector was preceded in death by his wife, Lupita Martinez, and his father, Jesus Martinez Diaz.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his five children, Heidi (Rene Jr.) Oliveira, Rubi “Ale†(Perla) Martinez, Hector (Juvenal) Martinez, Edgar (Rosario) Martinez, and Aracely (Aurelio Gonzalez, Jr.) Martinez, his three granddaughters, Elanor Isidora Oliveira, Valeria Martinez, and Emma Rose Martinez, his mother, Carlota Diaz Martinez, along with numerous siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Hector’s wishes, he will be cremated. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 29th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas, with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM.
