Israel Tapia, 65, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Hospital-Southeast surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Andres Tapia and Maria De Jesus Tapia Torres, siblings Clemente Tapia and Guadalupe Tapia Tapia.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Hermelinda Tapia; children Israel (Jessica) Tapia Jr., Andres (Mayra) Tapia, Mary Tapia, Steven Tapia; grandchildren Caleb Matteo Tapia, Adeah Genesis Tapia; siblings Ruben (Carmen) Tapia, Emma (Abraham) Hurtado, Alma (Hector) Tapia Macias, and Elias (Virginia) Tapia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 1 to 9 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 1 PM at Iglesia Mision Divina located at 36 Sam Perl Blvd., Brownsville. Burial will follow at 2 PM at Guillen Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Israel Tapia Jr, Andres Tapia, Elias Tapias, Ruben Tapia, and Rogelio M. Garza Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rogelio E. Garza III, and Vidal Garza Jr.
