Ms. Ofelia “Ofie†Dorado, 74, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in Harlingen, TX surrounded by her loving family. Ofie was born on September 7, 1945 to Refugio Dorado and Bartola Moreno.
Ofie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed cooking. She had a green thumb for gardening and was always willing to help others. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Bartola Dorado; three siblings, Sylvia Nuñez, Albert Knowles and Georgina Knowles.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Laura Patricia Gonzalez; one son, Esteban (Carmen) Dorado; eight grandchildren, Jazmin K. Gonzalez, Erica C. Gonzalez, Arnelle I. Gonzalez, Michael J. Gonzalez, Stephen Evan Dorado, Carolina Dorado, Karla Dorado and Esteban Leonardo Dorado; seven siblings, Rafael Dorado, Juan Antonio Dorado, Margarita Dorado, Amparo De La Garza, Estella Martinez, Frank Knowles and Guadalupe “Wally†Knowles; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special thanks to their long time close family friend, Yolanda “Yoli†Aguayo.
Ms. Ofelia Dorado was a long time member of the Sun Valley Adult Care were she made many great friends and priceless memories.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2020 with a prayer service being held at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
Chapel funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February, 24, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
