Ramon S. Lara, 80, of Brownsville, TX went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 14, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Lara was born to Monica Solis and Filomeno Lara on June 4, 1939.
Ramon was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a hard working husband and father who always enjoyed helping others. He loved his family and spending time with them. Heaven has called an angel home. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Monica and Filomeno Lara; one sister, Paula Sandoval; two brothers, Guadalupe Lara and Brijido Lara.
Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Eugenia Lara; five children, Maria Guadalupe Garcia, Maria Leticia (Diego) Zepeda, Maria (Jose Angel) Vasquez, Erasmo ( Yolanda) Lara and Paula (Nestor Daniel Zuñiga) Lara; eighteen grandchildren, Ramon Saldivar, Aracelia Acosta, Daisy Zepeda, Martin Zepeda, Doraelia Herrera, Diego Zepeda, Diasmin Zepeda, Jose Alvaro Leija, Jose Angel Vasquez, JoAnna Vasquez, Rafael Lara, Ivette Lara, Ruben Lara, Alexis Lara, Aileen Lara, Aaron Zuñiga, Victoria A. Zuñiga, Azul C. Zuñiga; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 PM.
Chapel funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
