Victor Vallejo

Victor Vallejo, 89, devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 23, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents Demetrio Vallejo and Carmen Aguilar Vallejo; siblings Herminia “Minnie” Guerrero and Armando Vallejo; niece Minerva Guerrero and his nephew Carl Guerrero; sister in law Isabel Vallejo and Viola Tillman Uviedo and brother in law Alex Guerrero and Frank Tillman.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 46 years Berta Tillman Vallejo; brother in law Gilberto Uviedo Sr.; nieces and nephews Rodney Guerrero, Irene Vallejo Hinojosa, Priscilla Vallejo Zarate, Margie Vallejo Moore, Gracie T. Galvan, Yolanda Zamora, Rose Heinrich, Patricia Gonzalez, Hilda Flores, Frank Uviedo, Christina U. Lopez, and Gilbert Uviedo Jr.

Victor was known for his kind and friendly nature. He served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran who served his country. He worked at Texas Southmost College for 20 years from 1971 to 1991 as a professional painter in the Maintenance Department. After 20 years of service, he retired from TSC in 1991. He was also an avid loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to watch the Cowboys’ games with his beloved wife. Victor’s passion was gardening. He had an amazing green thumb and loved all kinds of flowers and plants.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 PM with military honors at 4:30 p.m. and the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville. (956) 350-8485
