Gloria Vela Núñez, 83, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on December 18, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cruillas, Tamaulipas on April 10, 1936. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Vela, and Paula Soto; her husband Julio Núñez; sons Julio Nunez Jr., Javier Héctor Nunez; and her siblings MatÃas Vela, and Eloy Vela.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Jose Ãngel (Tomasa) Nunez; her daughter in laws Juanita Núñez, and Sylvia Nunez; grandchildren Jennifer Núñez RamÃrez, Drinda (Cesar) Núñez, Jose Ãngel (Stacy) Núñez Jr., Margarita (BenjamÃn) Ojeda, Javier Héctor Núñez Jr., Estefany Núñez; as well as her great-grandchildren Audrey, and Jacob RamÃrez, Ariel, Christian, Isaac Galaviz, Carter, Raelyn, Layla Núñez, IsaÃas, Gabriel, Joshua, and Joseph Ojeda.
We would like to thank Adriana De La Cruz, Josefina Del Ãngel, and Francisca Garcia-González for their attentive care of our mother in all of her years of illness.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2019 from 1-9 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1 PM at Garcia Cemetery in El Ranchito. Pallbearers will be Joey Núñez, BenjamÃn Ojeda, Cesar Galaviz, Christopher Nunez, Tommy Gonzales, and Christopher Gonzales.
