Elia Duarte Cruz, 76, of Brownsville TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2019, at Valley Regional Medical Center Surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Antonio, Tamaulipas on May 16, 1943. She is preceded in death by her parents Maria Candelaria Gomez Salazar and Inocencio Duarte Perez; her son Roberto Lozano Jr; and her siblings Daniel Duarte, Maria De La Luz Duarte, and Raul Duarte.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Roberto Cruz Lozano; children Lorena Lozano, Janet L. Lopez, Cynthia Lozano, Elia L. Avendano, Esmeralda Lozano, Edgar Lozano, and Luis Carlos Cruz; siblings Benita Duarte, Ana D. Quintero, Inocencio Duarte, Ismail Duarte, Dilia D. Ramos, Yolanda D. Casas, Claudio Duarte, Ricardo Duarte, and Nora D. Cavello; grandchildren Corina Marie L. Jimenez, Jose Luis Lopez, Roberto Lozano III, Giovannelli Lozano, Alexander Lozano, Roberto Azael Lozano, Kassandra Aileen Lozano, Edgar Lozano, Xavier Emmanuel Lozano, Brisa Fernanda Lozano, Luis Carlos Cruz Jr., Natalia Nicole Cruz, Hugo Avendano II, Paola Avendano; as well as her great grandchildren Victor Matias Jimenez, and Ana Paola Jimenez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, from 2:30-11 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM and Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 1-9 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at 12 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
