Maria de la Luz Benavidez was surrounded by her family just before her death. She was at Spanish Meadows for the last 5 years. The family would like to give many thanks for the care they provided for her. Many knew her as Mary Lou or Lucha. She was a strong woman, full of life who enjoyed making people laugh, dancing, and singing like no one was watching. She loved spending her time tending to her garden and visiting with friends and family.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Reyes Benavidez; two daughters Claudia (Gabriel) Ruiz, Maria Magdalena (Keenan) Benavidez-Lynch; grandchildren Joaquin Isaiah Ruiz, Julian Rey Ruiz, Nolan Phillip Lynch, and Helena Danae Lynch; siblings Paulina Valadez Perez, Isabel Valadez Pérez, Elvira Valadez Perez, Gerardo Valadez Pérez, Martha Valadez Pérez, Antonia Valadez Pérez, MarÃa Elena Valadez Pérez, Luis Ernesto Valadez Pérez, Adriana Valadez Pérez, and Rogelio Valadez Pérez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 1 to 9 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1 PM at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. We are so sorry for your loss Claudia, I know your mom will be miss, but she will suffer no more, there are no words but I pray that the good lord will give you all peace, and cherish all the good memories you have of her. Give our condolences to your dad, and you all be strong for him, love you all, and will keep you all in our prayers.
