Maria Alicia Hernandez, 70, of Brownsville, TX, devoted significant other, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest Friday, November 15, 2019, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX, on March 11, 1949.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel G. Diaz, Alicia G. Diaz; and her brothers Manuel Diaz Jr. and Jose Carlitos Diaz.
Left to cherish her memory is her significant other Valentin Martinez; her daughters Mary Alice (Leonard) Rodriguez, Sylvia Hernandez and her husband Carlo Destine, and Beatriz Hernandez and her husband Mathew Flores; her grandchildren Alicia Chavez, Alexander Rodriguez, Anna Perez, Jesse Luv Miranda, Veronica Guevara, Beatrice Banuelos, Isabella Rodriguez, Cecila Banuelos, and Luis C. Guevara; her siblings Esther (Cheve) Molina, Mary Lou (Ronald) Perkins, Antonio Diaz, Hilario Diaz, George Diaz, San Juanita Gutierrez, Danny Diaz, David Diaz, Leticia Loya and her husband Fernando Sosa, Cynthia Diaz and her husband Francisco Martin. As well as 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 1PM to 9PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM. Services will conclude at the end of the evening. Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. 657 Springmart Blvd. Brownsville, (956) 350-8485.
