Maria Del Pilar Moreno “Marucaâ€, 66, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at her residence in Brownsville, TX surrounded by her loving family. “Maruca†was born on October 12, 1953 in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

“Maruca”, as her family and loved one’s lovingly called her, was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and most importantly, a servant and warrior of Jesus Christ. She was devoted to helping others and serving the Lord. She will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Guadalupe Dominguez de Moreno and Eladio Moreno; one brother, Roberto Moreno and one grandson, Miguel Angel Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children six children, Maria Del Pilar Hernandez, Gisela (Jose) Ibarra, Jacqueline (Jorge) Marquez, Manuel (Janie) Hernandez Jr., David (Esthela) Hernandez and Abraham (Jaqueline) Moreno; five siblings, Rafael Moreno, Raul Moreno, Mario Alberto Moreno, Chano Moreno and Felipa Barbosa; sixteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 1 to 9 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Chapel service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 657 Springmart Blvd. Brownsville, TX 78526 with Christian burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.

    I am deeply saddened by the loss of my very good friend, Maruca. She will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
