Dolores H. Ramirez

Dolores H. Ramirez was born to the late Joaquin and Ana Dominga Hinojosa, a farm worker and homemaker, in San Fernando, Tamaulipas on March 29, 1928.  She passed away on October 12, 2019 at Valley Baptist medical Center-Harlingen surrounded by her loving family. She immigrated to Brownsville, TX at the age of 14 to work alongside her father to prepare a home for the rest of the family.  She lived the rest of her life in Brownsville, TX in their family home on Coolidge Street.

She lived an extraordinary life, always serving first of all Our Lord and Savior, as well as others.  She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, and hard worker.  Her stories and wisdom resound in each one that had the honor to be in her presence. 

Dolores was blessed with an amazing family that continues to grow.  She married Rafael Ramirez and they were blessed with their beautiful daughter Maria “Trini†Ramirez. 

She is survived by her husband, Rafael Ramirez; daughter Maria “Trini†Ramirez –Gonzalez (Oziel); brothers Conrado Hinojosa (Ester), Eduardo Hinojosa (Maria); sisters in-law Amada Hinojosa, Rosa Hinojosa.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents: Joaquin and Ana Dominga Hinojosa; brothers:  Joaquin Hinojosa Jr. (Guadalupe), María Plata (Jose), Guadalupe Hinojosa (Carlota), Manuel Hinojosa, Francisco Hinojosa

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 1 to 9 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 a chapel service will be held at 2 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow at 3 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.

Pallbearers: Hugo Hinojosa, Jose Plata Jr., Manuel Hinojosa Jr., Conrado Hinojosa Jr., Francisco Hinojosa Jr., and Jesús G. Hinojosa. Honorary Pallbearers: Conrado Hinojosa, Eduardo Hinojosa, and Oziel González.
