Irene G. Valdez

Irene G. Valdez, 69, of Brownsville, TX went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 06, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born on November 26, 1949 to Pedro Garza Bermudez and Francisca Saldaña Garza.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Francisca Garza; two brothers, Pedro and Eugenio Garza; one sister, Romelia Garza.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Francisco O. Valdez Sr.; her son, Francisco (Judith M.) Valdez Jr.; her daughter, Lidia (Antonio) Rivera; one sister, Manuela Garza; two brothers, Francisco and Oscar Garza; four grandchildren, Johnathan J. Valdez, Emmanuel Rivera, Lilian Rivera and Keila Rivera.

Irene was a woman of faith. She enjoyed serving the Lord and her community church, praying over the sick and over anyone who needed prayer. She had a special place at church and in the hearts of all the community of Centro de Fe Vino Nuevo. Her love and smile will forever live in our hearts.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 07, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Sunday, September 08, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service being held at 5:00 p.m at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home located at 657 Springmart Blvd. Brownsville, TX 78526.

Chapel Funeral Ceremony will take place on Monday, September 09, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
