Maria C. Salazar

Maria C. Salazar, 83 of Los Fresnos, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Vally Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Guanajuato, Mexico.  She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Salazar; parents, Eulalia and Brigido Perez, and three sisters, Ramona Leyva, Demetria Salazar and Amparo Martinez.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Nora Hilda (Martin) Martinez, Lorenza (Jaime) Mata, Christina (Roberto) Mendiola, 3 sons, Alfredo Sr (Cecilia) Perez, Carlos (Diana) Salazar, and Jose (Eva) Salazar, a brother, Juan Chavira,Several Grandchildren, Ileana Hinojosa, Kevin and Alfredo Perez Jr. and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She will be greatly missed. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 1-9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1055 Military Rd, Brownsville, TX. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.  

Pallbearers will be Alfredo Perez, Johnny Hinojosa, Martin Martinez, Roberto Mendiola, Jaime Mata, and Alfredo Perez Jr.
