Dear Lucy,
My heart aches not being able to ever hug or kiss my Daddy again. He was the best Dad in the whole world. So sad his life ended so soon. No time would have been the right time for me to ever say goodbye. I hope you are okay at the rosary surrounded by your kids and family. Wish I had been stronger to be present. Dad is looking down on you from heaven. Thanks for all the love and care you gave my Dad. Love Rose Di Grazia
Always soft-spoken, mild-mannered, instantly likable, and warm with a ready smile and a hearty laugh is how I would describe my father-in-law, Paul Di Grazia. Requiem in pacem.
Dad had a quiet confidence, a warm presence and a gentle spirit. He had a way of making me feel safe and loved just being with him. Growing up one of my favorite things to do was to help him do chores: like going to the grocery store together, gardening, washing the car, building a shed, and fixing flat tires. He made everything fun for me. We also loved to sing together. Even though as an adult, my journey has put me thousands of miles away from him, whenever we spoke we’d easily pick up where we left off last. I have missed him and loved him from afar for a good while now. I will continue to love and miss him forever. He was a wonderful father. I am grateful that he had a loving wife and grown children nearby who took good care of him when he got sick. There are no words to fully express my gratitude for the love and care you gave my father especially during his last days. Thank you Lucy, Joe, Mario, Helen, Mark, and everyone else who helped out. Love you.
A bit belated as I happened to come across this site today. I’m very sorry for your heartfelt loss Rosie (CCD), John (Altar Boys), and the Di Grazia family. I have cherished memories of hearing your father as a lector and sing at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in the 70’s & very early 80’s when I served as an altar boy. Beautiful voice, warmth, kindness, peace, and saintly are what I felt in his presence. I only wish I had known him like I did your mother who taught me CCD. Her sweet smile and caring demeanor as my teacher is etched in my heart. They touched many including myself and hold their memory in mind especially when I visit Brownsville. Rest in peace Mr. & Mrs. Di Grazia.
