Francisco Maldonado

Francisco Maldonado, 84, of Brownsville, Tx, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest April 12, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Guanajuato on September 5, 1934.He is preceded in death by his parents Juan Maldonado & Maura Zuniga. Brothers Antonio & Andres. Sisters Victoria & Prisca Maldonado. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Maria Guadalupe (Lupita) Maldonado, his seven children, twenty one grandchildren & six great grandchildren. Maria Carmen(Vicente Gonzalez), Juan Maldonado(Maria Dolores), Maria Santos(Eligio Hurtado), Jose de Jesus Maldonado(Teresa de Jesus), Jose Guadalupe(Zulema), Maria del Socorro(Jorge Ortega), Maria Luisa(Eduardo Reyes).   One sister Luz(Pablo Huerta). Along with extended family & many many friends.Francisco was a brave man. He would often mention that aside from his small structure he was not afraid to face the troubles of life. In his youth he left Guanajuato to look for a better life on the border. As his finances looked up he returned for his wife and his first two kids. They established their home in Matamoros and welcomed their other five kids. As a young man he always liked music which started with him self teaching how to play the harmonica. Until he was able to buy himself an accordion which he self taught as well. His amateur love for music and the accordion lead him thru many stages of life as well as long lasting friendships. Although none of his children or grandchildren learned how to play the memory of him singing and playing the accordion is one they will cherish forever.In his last days he was never alone, he was always surrounded by family and friends reminiscing the good old days. May he Rest In Peace.
