Vicente “Vince” Esparza Jr.

Vicente “Vince” Esparza Jr.

Vicente “Vince” Esparza, Jr. 34 of Brownsville, Texas entered peacefully into his eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at his home in Brownsville, Texas. At the time of his passing, Vince was surrounded by his loving family.

Vince was a Brownsville native who spent several years as a Physician’s Assistant. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Antonio and Francisca Esparza and maternal grandparents, Manuel and Maria Garza.

Vince is survived by many beloved family members including his wife, Abigail Esparza (Wilcox), parents, Vicente and Lydia Esparza of Brownsville; brother, Manuel (Brooke) Esparza of Houston; and his niece and nephews, Rodney, Royal, Manuel Jr., and Marcellus, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vince was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 5, 1984. He was the oldest of two children. Vince’s heart and laugh captivated all and his love of helping others could be seen in his interaction with patients, family, and friends. He was the brother and brother-in-law that everyone wished they had. The beloved, easy-going young man that always made his parents proud and made sure to take care of his family. He loved his mom’s home cooking and spending time relaxing with family and friends the best. The biggest joys in Vince’s life were his family, and he worked very hard to build a beautiful life for them all.

Vince graduated from Hanna High School in 2003 and received a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from UT Pan-Am in 2012. He dedicated much of his life to helping others and inspired many with his own perseverance and dedication. While Vince was not with us nearly long enough, his presence and love will never be forgotten.

The family sends a heartful thanks to all the coworkers and friends that have been by the family’s side these last few days.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory-Flower Shop. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.

I am so sorry for everyone who knew Vince . I , had a personal connection to Vince that started with a tradgedy that led to a Christmas Day miracle. He and I laughed, cried and worried about his parents and each other. I never had a brother but if I did it was Vince. He loved his parents with every beat of his heart. They became a family to me. His brother Nannie made me laugh when they were together, not stop “belly” laughs. One of the biggest gifts was his “nephews birth” he loved him so much and he smiled so big when we talked about him. I will miss you Vince…I love you so much. Lisa Garnett
