Germain Morin

On Tuesday February 19th, 2019, Germain Morin, loving husband of Margaret Morin and father of eight children, passed away at the age of 91, in Brownsville Texas. Germain was born on December 1st, 1927 in Orleans Ontario, a little village outside of Ottawa, Canada to Henry and Yvonne (Laundriault) Morin. On November 8th, 1952, he married Margaret Ruth Scrafe. Together, they raised 4 daughters and 4 sons. He worked for the International Nickle Company in Sudbury, Ontario for 20 years then moved to the United States to start a metal stamping company, 4M Precision Industries in Auburn NY.

Gerry had a passion for building things. He also loved to incorporate innovative ideas in his work. He used cement, rocks, wood and metal when he built. He created extraordinary works of art all throughout “the Farm†where his family lived and the grandkids, great grandkids came to visit. Gerry loved to play a few instruments; the guitar, violin and harmonica which the children loved to dance to. He was known for his quiet nature, his funny little jokes and passion for playing card games.

Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Henry, and his mother, Yvonne. He is survived by his wife Peggy, his eight children and their spouses: Giselle, spouse Ray Raymond; Daniel, spouse Shelly Morin; Brenda, spouse Thom Forrest; Stephen, spouse LuAnn Morin; Karen, Jeffrey, Edith Carroll and Allen, 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, two sisters, a brother, nieces, and nephews.

@ Sacred Heart Church in Auburn N.Y.

There will be a celebration of life @ the Farm

after mass @ 7076 Beech Tree Rd in Auburn N.Y.

In lieu of flowers donations for a Scholarship

Fund in Germain Morin’s name can be sent to

Cayuga Community College Foundation.

    Peggy,
    My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
    We will miss Jerry whenever we visit “the farm”. He was such a highly motivated, hard working guy and always so friendly..
