Mr. Manuel Saldivar Sr., 81 of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2019, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Isabel, Texas on September 17, 1937.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rita Saldivar, and his beloved parents Concepcion and Encarnacion Saldivar.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his eight children; Norma (Mike) Barberena; Manuel (Sandra) Saldivar Jr.; Juanita (Omar) Martinez; Rosario (James) Taylor; Gerardo Saldivar; Sergio (Tracie) Saldivar; Cristobal (Lisa) Saldivar; Saul (Carmen) Saldivar; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his 2 sisters, Evelia Garza; Lupita Rosales; and his brother Julian Tirso (Reyna) Saldivar.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas. Visitation will resume, Monday, February 18, 2019 at 6 PM to 9 PM with a rosary at 7 at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, Texas.
Visitation will continue Tuesday, February 19, 2019, from 9 AM to 10AM with a funeral mass to begin 10 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with interment to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
