Guillermo Garcia Perez Jr.

Guillermo Garcia Perez Jr., 73, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 18, 2018 at his residence surrounded by loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Mexico on August 23, 1945.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guillermo Perez Gutierrez and Maria Garcia Rodriguez. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory is his children Cristobal E. Perez, Guillermo J. Perez, Graciela V. Perez, Griselda V. Salazar, Gabriela V. Aviles, and Brenda G. Perez; siblings Irene Cano, Maximino Perez, Maria Luisa Galvan, Patricia Perez and Clara Maycot; grandchildren Billy, Ashley, Joseph, Jacob, Brando, Rani, Brianna, Sofia, Gianna, Olivia, Gianni, Itzel, Reese, Arlette, Jose Ricardo, Gael, and Cristian. He was a member of the Christ the King Parish. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and loved to travel. He was a devoted father and hard worker and caring man. He was also a problem solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. Dad…so many images come to mind whenever we speak your name; it seems without you in my life things will never be the same. What happened to those crazy days when we were just children; when you managed to make the ordinary days like a roller coaster ride. What happened to all those times when we always looked to you; no matter what happened in our lives you could turn my gray skies blue. Dad, some days we hear your voice and turn to see your face; and then we realize that it all has been erased. Who will be there to make us laugh at our own expense. If we could turn back time and once more hear your voice; I’d tell you that out of all the dads, you would still be our first choice. Please always know we love you and no one can take your place; years may come and go but your memory will never be erased. We know, in our heart: that you are in a better place now.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 from 1 to 9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory-Flower Shop. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. (956) 350-8485
