Cipriano Shears, 70, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville with his beloved family at his side. Cipriano was a kind soul with the gift of laughter. His interests included family, fishing, and watching the Cowboys games. He devoted much of his time as a caregiver to the family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Elvira and Roberto G. Shears and a brother Hector (Julia) Shears. Left to cherish his memory are his children Claudia (Dwayne) Shears, Cipriano (Mary) Shears, Jr. his grandchildren Chris, Julie, Caleb and Caden. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Ernesto (Mayra) Shears, Griselda (Francisco) Rodriguez, Maria Elena (Jimmy) Serna, Javier (Janie)Shears, Juanita (Robin) Inman, Oscar Jaime (Lucy) Shears, Robert Shears, Jr., Martha (Santos) Coronado, Mary E. Shears, George Shears, Lee Roy (Lilly) Shears. Cipriano will be also be fondly remembered by his, nephews, nieces, relatives, and many close friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass of Christian Burial be celebrated on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 12 noon followed by a committal service at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Cipriano Shears Jr., George Shears, Javier Shears, Francisco R Rodriguez, Chris Rodriguez, Dwayne Smith, and Edward Chapa. Honorary pallbearers will be Francisco Rodriguez, Jimmy Serna, Robin Inman, and Santos Coronado. Special Thanks to Dr. Ellis, ICU staff at Valley Regional, and the staff of Spanish Meadows for their care of Mr. Shears.
