Guadalupe M. Lopez

Guadalupe M. Lopez, 79, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, father in law, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2018 surrounded by loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on January 24, 1939.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Guadalupe Lopez and Domitila Martinez. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Gisela A. Lopez; children Jesse A. Lopez, George W. Lopez, John E. Lopez; siblings Domitila Davila, Maria Eliza Lopez, Amalia Harris, Sylvia Steele, Emma Oralia Smith, Perla Zarate, Anna Barreda, Gracie Lopez, Elsa Garza, and Antonio Lopez; daughters in law Maria A. Lopez, Virginia Lopez, and Karla Lopez; grandchildren Matthew G. Lopez, Sophia A. Lopez, Ariana G. Lopez, and Daniel A. Lopez

Mr. Guadalupe M. Lopez was a loving family man and enjoyed long conversations with family and friends. He enjoyed watching movies, playing card games and doing wood work and always kept himself busy after his retirement. He retired with the City of Brownsville where he was employed for 20 years.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 and the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. On Saturday, October 27, 2018 there will be a chapel service held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Jesse A. Lopez, George W. Lopez, John E. Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Mario Davila and Dr. Raul Barreda.
