Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Wisdom Hare


Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Wisdom Hare of Brownsville, Texas a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 22nd, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Pharr, Texas on January 19th, 1929. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Father-William W. Wisdom & her Mother- Electa Lee Gifford; sisters Lorna Wisdom Nelson and Margorie Wisdom Early. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Daughters; Pamela Jean Pepin Vadnais of White Bear Lake, Mn., Penee Lin Pepin Spencer of Kimberling City, MO. Sons; Perry Alan Pepin of Brownsville, Tx and Philip Gregory Pepin of San Antonio, Texas; Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; siblings: Sisters; Ruth Wisdom Black, Edna Wisdom Workmon, Doris Wisdom, and Diane Wisdom Jackson; Brother-William Wisdom.

Dorothy (Dottie) was employed for many years with the Crest Fruit Company of Alamo, Texas where she retired as the Chief Executive Assistant to the President of the Company; she was also the head accountant and bookkeeper. Dottie was very active for many years in the McAllen and Harlingen Elks Lodges. Dottie was a fun-loving free spirit who enjoyed interacting with her family. In her retirement years she became an avid golfer and globe trotter traveling throughout Europe, Hawaii and Mexico.  She truly enjoyed sharing her love for arts and crafts with her grandchildren.  She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice.  Dottie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her. 

The memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 11:00 to 2:00 with a prayer service at 12:00 P.M. Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.  657 Springmart Blvd.  (956) 350-8485.
