María Carmen Hernández

María Carmen Hernández, 84, of Brownsville, Texas devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by loving family. She was born in El Torreon, Guanajuato, Mexico on August 3, 1934.

She is preceded in death by her parents Vicente and Josefa Rocha; her son Jorge Hernandez; siblings Maria de la Luz Williams, Jesus Rocha, and Victor Rocha.

Left to cherish her memory is her children Imelda (Travis) Wilson, Ana (Roberto) Rodriguez, Felipe (Esperanza) Garcia, Maria De Los Angeles (LeRoy) Zimmerman, Graciela (Samuel) Cortez, Delia (Pedro) Constante, Roy (Nora) Beck, and Martha Garcia; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
