Macaria Mujica


Macaria Mujica, 87, of Brownsville, Texas devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and great-grandmother entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by loving family. She was born in Panuco, Veracruz, Mexico on March 11, 1931.

She preceded in death by her parents Pablo Valdez Cruz and Issac Ipina Mireles; son Melquiades Mujica; and a grandson Edgar Mujica.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Apolinar Mujica; children Jorge (Yolanda), Apolinar Jr. (Irma), Alicia (Javier), Fina (Mario), Sergio (Elisa), Jose Luis (Elvira), and Bertha (Antonio); siblings Benjamin, Seferino, Agapito, and Faustina; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She was a loving caring person, intelligent, hardworking, warrior who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, doing arts and crafts. She was very creative and loved to play chalupa.

          Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
