Rachel Villarreal Vasquez

Rachel Villarreal Vasquez

Rachel Villarreal Vasquez, 51, of Brownsville, Tx, devoted Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, entered into eternal rest June 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Brownsville Texas on April 21, 1967.
She is preceded in death by Grandparents Francisco and Rita Villarreal, father Pedro Villarreal, grandmother Raquel Rangel, brother Pedro Villarreal Jr.,
and her grandson Christian E. Lopez.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother Herminia Villarreal, children Annie Lopez, Skatey Marie Vasquez and Eduardo L. Vasquez, grandchildren Israel E. Lopez and Jayden Vasquez, sisters Patricia Gutierrez and Aida Castillo, brother Rudy Vento,
and several nieces and nephews.

Greeting Rachel was always a ritual of unconditional love, and you were guaranteed to receive a strong hug and sweet kiss on the cheek. Her kind and beautiful soul was always ready to give and offer a helping hand when she could.

And while life had its struggles for Rachel, she always tried to be strong and come out ahead. She was smart, fearless, and always ready to learn new things. Her search for love was eternal and she found it in the little things; love from her grandchildren that only children can give, simple moments with her children that were genuine and caring, a good joke with a big laugh with her siblings, taking a selfie with her “beautiful, old lady†mother, or gathering with family in those special times when they could all be together.

“I’ve had a great life,†she would say to her sister.

From her brother: “My sister always was a person with amazing attributes that no other can replicate. She without a doubt had and will always be a major impact of my life. I know that I would not be the man that I am today without her motivational speeches and that is something that I will take with me till we meet again.â€

She was loved by many, and she will be at peace and continue to be loved as she joins her family that passed before her.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 6th, 2018, from 2:00-9:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 657 Springmart Blvd. 956-350-8485.
