Ricardo Alaniz, 57, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, entered in to eternal rest on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Valley Regional Medical Center, surrounded by loving family. He was born in Brownsville, TX, on December 2, 1960.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto Alaniz Sr. and Josefina Jasso, and a sister Maria Elena Vela.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marisela Alaniz, his children, Cassandra Alaniz, Lorrie(Mario) Alaniz, and Ricardo(Lisa) Alaniz. Also surviving are his siblings; Ernesto(Beatriz)Alaniz, Sylvia Garza, Susan Jasso and Sofia(Amando) Ramirez, along with his grandchildren, Anthony, Walley Ricardo, Dante and Albert.
Ricardo was a great husband, father and friend. He worked in health care most of his life working with the elderly and “Taking care of God’s children” as he always said. He liked the Dallas Cowboys but loved his cars. He will always be remembered and will be dearly missed. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 1-9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home in Brownsville, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory of Brownsville, TX. (956)350-8485
