Sylvia (Juarez) Rodriguez, 67, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, April 9, 2018, at her residence. She was born September 20, 1951 in Mexico, D.F.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Esteban and Manuela Juarez, and her husband of 47 years, Carlos Rodriguez. Left to cherish her memory are her children Melissa (David) Rodriguez-Alanis, Carlos (Patty) Rodriguez, and Edward Rodriguez; grandson Eddie Sanchez; granddaughter Anna Paola Rodriguez; her siblings Francisco (Ramona) Juarez, Estefana Juarez, and Jose Juarez; sister in law Alicia (Zeferino) Rodriguez. Numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Our beloved Mother was a remarkable, beautiful person inside and out. Not only did she love her family and friends, she enjoyed life to the fullest. She was always there to give comfort and support to those in need. She loved to play Chalupa/Bingo. She was dedicated to serving at church. Mom gave unconditionally from beginning to end at everything she was involved in. She was always someone you could count on. Heart of gold.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A mass will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens located on 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, TX 78526. Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, TX (956) 350-8485

    My deepest condolences to the family. Sylvia lived for many years across the street from my mother on Taylor street. I would visit her and Carlos whenever I was in town. She will be missed by those who knew her and loved her.

    I had the pleasure to meet Ms. Rodriguez, a very happy person who was very close to her family, we used to talk and make jokes when she would come to see her son Carlos, will be missed
