Camerino Ybarra, 81, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Florentino Ybarra and Benedicta Herrera; sister Tomasa Ybarra. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Olga Solis; children Dahlia R. Gonzalez, Joel (Melissa) Ybarra, Jose Antonio Ybarra, Janie (Carlos) Ybarra Azua; raised like daughters his nieces Laura Lucio and Rosario Lucio and nephew Ricky Zamorano; siblings Florentino of Galveston, Nick of Texas City, Adela of Sugarland; grandchildren Ramiro Espinoza, Ashley Salazar, Alexandra Gonzalez, Danielle Curiel, Justo Emilio Gonzalez Jr., Joel Ybarra Jr., Christian Ybarra; great grandchildren Rami and Izabel. He was a devoted Catholic and man of faith. A true leader and example to follow for his family. He was a long-time president of the Curia of the Legion of Mary and an avid baseball and soccer fan. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in the Mexican Leagues. His passion was playing baseball during his youth in city leagues. The three most important things in his life were Faith in God, Family and work. He was active in his church and a regular Eucharistic Minister at Good Shepherd and Our Lord of Divine Mercy Church.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lord of Divine Mercy Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
