Jesús R. García

Jesús R. García

Jesus R. Garcia, 92, of Brownsville, Texas devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on March 14, 2018. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 6, 1925.

He is preceded in death by his sons David, Daniel, and Ruben Garcia; granddaughter Stephanie Battista; great-grandson Nathan Mclnnis; parents Juan Garcia and Virginia Recio.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Celestina Garcia; children Juanita Silva, Jesse Jr. Garcia, Joe Garcia, Maria L. Garcia, Blanca Sandoval, Rosie Garcia, Hilda Barboza, Delia Battista, Ruth Garneau, Sandy Martinez, and Nora de Leon; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Jesus Garcia was a man who provided without fail to not only his children but also his grandchildren, great grandchildren and in-laws in time of need without hesitation. Never asking for restitution, recognition or gratitude. He was the type of man who spoke volumes without saying a word. So, we thank you Jesus for not only being “Our Family†but our forever constant. Letting us make our mistakes without judgement and praising our accomplishments which encouraged us to do our very best, for making us laugh with your jokes, for keeping us on our toes, with your sneaky funny ways and for most importantly for being the one person who never disappointed us. You leave a legacy that most only dream of. So now as you’ve entered the heavenly gates rejoice with the family members that have gone before us and know we will all be reunited one day.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Chapel service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
