Maria De Jesus Treviño

Maria De Jesus Treviño, 78, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.

She is preceded in death by her parents San Juana Gonzales and Gavino Silva; husband Carlos Treviño and her siblings Paula Perales and Antonia Hernandez.

Left to cherish her memory is her children Nelda Treviño, Diana Treviño Garcia, Mary Alice (Nestor) Atkinson, Olivia (Ruperto) Ruiz, Tina Treviño, and her sister Aurora (Robert) Vasquez.

Maria was a homemaker who raised 5 children on her own with much sacrifice, love, and guidance. She had many diverse interests such as reading, puzzles, and specially watching those soap operas. She shared all these interests and more with much joy and gaiety. She was loved as a mother, friend, sister, and grandmother. Maria had 12 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Along with many more nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lord of Divine Mercy Church with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
