Laura Urbano

Laura Urbano, 46, of Brownsville, Texas devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Alfonso and Enriqueta Urbano and Enrique and Consuelo Cuellar. Left to cherish her memory is her parents Enrique (stepmother-Mary) and Alicia Urbano; sons Eric and Kevin Mendoza; daughter Shelby Mendoza; grandchildren Michael J. Trujillo, Melanie R. Castillo; siblings Leticia (Hugo) Sanchez, Henry Urbano, Erica (Rafael) Urbano; aunts Angie Ibarra, Irene (George) Garcia, Andrea Reyes, Lourdes (Pete) Contreras, Josefa (Oscar) Tamez; uncles Miguel (Rose) Urbano, Eddie, and numerous cousins who loved her like a sister and many close friends.

There is a saying that to be angry is human, but to forgive is divine. Laura was the most divine creature on this planet. Her love and compassion were unmatched by any other.

Her kindred soul, beautiful heart and vibrant smile would light up the world, even when it seemed dark. She was the most beautiful person to my sister and I. We loved her like a mother. Laura was a loving, caring mom to her kids and grandkids. Truly treasured by all that was our Laura.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 there will be a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Rose lawn Memorial Gardens.

Tia Alice, Letty and Pokie. My heart felt condolences to you all and to the rest of the Cuellar and Urbano families.
Irs been many years since I last saw Laura, but it breaks my heart to hear of her passing. Family and my love for you all is always in my heart, whether near or far. May God give you the strength to get through this very difficult time. I love you all. May Laura be at peace and be your guardian angel.
