Veronica Marie Martinez

Veronica Marie Martinez

Veronica Marie Martinez, 45, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on December 28, 2017 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by loving family.

Veronica was known to live life to the fullest. She was loud, the life of the party, loved to sing, and of course became the center of attention. She was always willing to help others. If you needed a penny she would give a dollar even if she didn’t have it. If you needed a shirt she would get you an outfit. If you were sick she would take care of you. Yet she never told us how she felt. Of course, if you told her something about her health she would tell us to be quiet. She had a way of lighting up a room when she walked in. Now her light has turned off here on earth but shines bright up in heaven. She will sing to the Lord along with Pedro Infante and Elvis. She will have a party with our aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Forever in our hearts until we meet again.

Veronica was a devout Catholic as a youth at St. Joseph’s Church and continued practicing her faith at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in San Antonio, Texas. She sang in the choir, was involved in RCIA classes, prepared candidates in the catholic faith, and attended numerous faith formation classes. She worked for Humana Healthcare as a sales representation in San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 3:00 to 9:00 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. On Saturday, December 30, 2017 a chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

I can’t believe you’re gone my cousin. My changito. You made me laugh and you were always just as crazy as me. The weekends we spent together when we were in college were unforgettable. I learned to drive from Austin to San Antonio in less than 45 minutes because of you. You will forever be my travel buddy. Love you always

Vero was one of the most compassionate and loving women I know. She loved God and shared her faith with others. Whatever she did, she did it with passion. She cared about the customers she helped, she was a great friend to so many, and always helped those in need.

Vero was the life of the party and brought laughter and joy to us all. She also had a quiet side and you could have deep and meaningful conversations with her. She loved sharing pictures of her grandparents home in Mexico and loved the times spent with them.

I am privileged to call her friend and I am happy she has claimed victory over death. We will miss her and she is now one of the heavenlies fighting our spiritual battles.

My sincere condolences to the Martinez family. Her San Antonio friends will keep her memory alive by sharing stories about her.
