Pedro “Pete” Reyna Jr, 70, of Los Fresnos, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on August 8, 1947.

He is preceded in death by his father Pedro Reyna, Sr., his mother Costancia de los Santos Reyna and grandson Cameron Justin Williams.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Lidia Chapa Reyna; his daughters Diana (Michael) Harris, Vicki (Rick) Moreno, Patricia (Miguel) Bernal and Marie Reyna Williams; his grandchildren Shelbi Harris, Micayla Harris, Caylin Harris, Marcus Moreno, Ryan Moreno, Erick Moreno, Audree Bernal, Mia Bernal, Evan Bernal, Rakye Wise and Chloe Williams. His sister, Petra Padilla and brothers Juan Reyna and Ruben (Yoli) Reyna and several nephews and nieces and Godchildren.

Pete was a life-long resident of South Texas. In 1967, he started a job at the Gladys Porter Zoo as a welding apprentice. It was here that he realized that he had a knack for welding and therefore , decided to complete a welding certification at the Texas Southmost College. After that, he went on to have a long career working as a welder for Marathon then as a Welding Supervisor until he retired from Amfels in 2012.

Pete was a humble, and hard-working man. Outside of his family, his home was his pride and joy. He loved working outside in his yard. He loved watching and playing golf, dancing and listening to Tejano music, enjoying barbecues with his family and watching Sci-Fi movies. Pete was loved by many. He could usually be found outside waving at or talking with his neighbors. Most of all, he loved all of his family dearly. He leaves a legacy of love within each of his family members, friends and all those whom he impacted.

Special thanks to Dr. Kotta, Texas Oncology staff, and the Well Med Staff for all their care during his long battle with Cancer. Sincerest gratitude to all family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors for all the prayers and support.
