Dina (Gomez) Salinas


Dina Gomez Salinas, 91, of Brownsville, Texas devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2017 at Solara Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 2, 1926.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pablo Gomez and Maria Sandoval Gomez; siblings Genoveva, Herminia, Olivia, Anzelmo, Miguel, Elia, Isabel and Ricardo Gomez.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 69 years Gustavo Salinas; children Gustavo (Mary) Jr., Miguel (Elena), Alfredo Salinas; grandchildren Gustavo III (Gloria), Claudia Dina, Jason, Carolina Lourdes; greatgrandchildren Gustavo IV, Gavin Oliver, and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from Brownsville High School in 1945. As a young woman she worked at E. Manotou Dept. Store and a at Aziz Brothers. She retired from BISD in 1983. The family will like to thank Belinda De La Cruz for her care and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lord of Divine Mercy Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Gustavo III, Jason, Danny, Johnny Salinas, Roy Cerda and Richard Ocañas.

    We are truly sorry to hear about Dina’s passing. Your mother was a very loving person and she will be truly
    missed. My condolences to you and the family.
    May her soul Rest In Peace, I believe that God has another Angel in Heaven. I loved Dina, and she will never be forgotten.
